Welcome to Paradise Island Alpaca Farm. We are located on Gabriola Island which is a short ferry trip from downtown Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, B.C. There is no charge for you to come and visit.
We started our farm in 2005 with 2 alpacas and now we have 9 alpacas, 2 llama, 75 layer hens,16 pygmy goats and 4 rescue miniature horses. The goats and miniature horses are a favorite with children.
We encourage visitors to be hands on with our animals. You may feed them, pet them and the minis loved to be groomed.
There are often "Farm Ambassadors" (ages 9 to 16) here to give visitors a tour and answer any questions regarding the farm or animals. Our ambassadors also help in the farm store were we sell eggs, alpaca wear and produce.
A short video from Island CTV produced by Bruce Williams can be viewed below.
During July and August we are open Thursday, and Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Off season, begins September 1st, hours are Saturday only from 11am to 3pm weather permitting.
Please note: Paradise Island Alpaca Farm is a working farm. We suggest proper footwear is worn so you may fully enjoy you visit.
Hope to see you soon,
Dave & Taylor Turrie
